Warranties


30–Day Risk–Free Return

In the event that you are not completely satisfied with your SpotLight/SpotLite device, you may return the device to us within 30 days from the date of record of your purchase for a full refund, subject to the terms and conditions below.

You must return the device to us in its original packaging and with all materials and components included with it, and if you have enrolled in our service offering, you must deactivate your service by calling 1-866-989-SPOT (1-866-989-7768). If you fail to return all items originally packaged with your device, Securus may charge you a $25 restocking fee. You will be required to include an original receipt as proof of your purchase.

For items returned within the 30-day period, Securus will refund the purchase price paid that you paid, minus any restocking fee applied as set forth above, and Securus will refund any prepaid charges for services and will waive the fee for early termination of your Customer Agreement.

PLEASE NOTE:You are required to deactivate your services AND return your device. Returning your device does not automatically deactivate your service. To learn how to deactivate your service, please call 1-866-989-SPOT (1-866-989-7768).

Limited Warranty

Securus offers the following Product Warranty on the SpotLight/SpotLite device, which warranty is incorporated into the Customer Agreement. Securus warrants that its products are free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of original purchase. Securus will repair or replace, at its option, any product that breaches this warranty during said period. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to you for parts or labor, provided that you shall be responsible for any transportation costs. This warranty does not cover and is void with respect to products that:

  • Have been improperly installed
  • Have been subject to unauthorized or improper modifications or repairs, or improper maintenance
  • Have been subjected to abuse, neglect, misuse, physical damage, exposure to power surges, fire, water or excessive moisture or dampness, or other acts of nature;
  • Have been opened, repaired, modified or altered by anyone other than a Company authorized service center
  • The serial number has been removed, altered, or rendered illegible
  • Are operated outside the limits of the product’s technical specifications or product instructions
  • Devices used for commercial purposes. For repair and/or replacement of SpotLight device, contact the Company’s customer support department to obtain approval and direction for returning any product under this warranty.
NOTE: Repairs have a 90 day warranty. If the SpotLight/SpotLite device sent in for repair is still under its original warranty, then the new warranty is 90 days or to the end of the original one year warranty, depending upon which is longer.

How to obtain service on this Warranty

  • Call 1-866-989-SPOT (1-866-989-7768)
  • You will need to provide your email address, your account number and your account password to the Securus representative. Securus will provide you with any forms and instructions for returning your SpotLight/SpotLite device.
  • You must ship the device in the original packaging, and you must include the original packing slip and all items that shipped with the device.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY

SECURUS MAKES NO OTHER EXPRESS WARRANTIES. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE PERIOD OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

YOUR REMEDIES ARE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT DESCRIBED HEREIN. WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM THE USE, PURCHASE OR REPAIR OF THIS PRODUCT, INCLUDING DAMAGES FROM LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, AND LOSS OF USE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
